You can choose your own start and end dates, so you can travel whenever you want during the popular months of May, June, and July. These programs run throughout the year, so you can also join during quieter months and the semester.

Orientation and introductions familiarize participants with the dental setting, including the clinic or hospital facilities, various departments, and key personnel. Meeting preceptors and staff members establishes a supportive network.

Observing dental procedures allows participants to witness the intricacies of patient care. From routine check-ups to complex treatments, this hands-on experience provides a real-world understanding of dental practice. Interacting with dental professionals during rounds, conferences, and informal discussions further enriches the learning experience.

Engaging with patients is a vital aspect of dental shadowing. Participants learn the significance of effective chairside manner, empathy, and communication in dental settings. Orientation and Training.

Philotimo Med Abroad ensures that its interns are fully informed and prepared before beginning their dental internship program. As such, we offer two types of orientation programs: one led by a program coordinator regarding the local area, and the other geared toward the work environment, including hospital operations, safety protocols, sanitation requirements, and specific terminology.
